Assigns the daily clinic work to the Cardiace Device Pacemaker
department staff and makes sure all clinics are covered by either
Pacemaker department staff or cardiac device rep personnel. Assists
in clinics when necessary and provides cardiac device trouble
shooting for OHHP Physicians and the Pacemaker department.
Coordinates training, department meetings & supervises time clock
and leave issues. Enrolls, interrogates and programs inpatient and
outpatient pacemaker/ICD patients. Recognizes abnormalities,
malfunctions and "end of service" indicators, notifies cardiologist
and assists in scheduling patients for follow up or replacement as
indicated. Coordinates and prioritizes with other members of the
healthcare team to respond to, plan and initiate timely and
efficient care. Educates patients and families regarding device
function and clinic follow up scheduling. Forwards information to
referring physicians and providers. Ensures timely and proper
documentation and billing. Participates in the device recall team
for respective area. Responsible for device trans-telephonic
monitoring, billing issues, and reporting issues. Supports all
aspects of documentation in cardiostation application, and on-call
ICD follow up reports.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification: BLS certification required within 18
months of hire.
Experience: Five (5) plus years of clinical experience with one (1)
year of supervisory experience preferred.
Working Knowledge: Medical terminology and medical insurance
knowledge preferred. Knowledge of Cerner scheduling system and the
PCIS Gold Practice Management System.
