Neurodiagnostic - EEG Technician Role Purpose: Under general
supervision, performs Evoked Potential studies in the laboratory
and in surgery and reports findings to the surgeon. Performs Nerve
Conduction Velocity studies and assists with
Electromyograms.Responsibilities: Perform all required procedures
within the EEG/EMG lab including, but not limited to, EEG s in the
department as well as portable, electro cerebral silence, and NCVs.
Schedule and coordinate times for diagnostic services with other
departments when necessary. Assist physicians conducting EMGs.
Maintain filing, archiving, and storage of patient data. Maintain
designated work area in a safe, clean, orderly manner and advise
supervisor of malfunctioning equipment or unsafe conditions. Fire
and retrieve EEG/EMG reports, answer incoming telephone calls,
schedule appointments and perform other clerical duties as
necessary or assigned. Arrange transportation of patients to and
from laboratory, transporting the patients personally when
necessary. Perform other related duties as directed that correspond
to the overall function of this position. Minimum Qualifications:
Two years clinical EEG experience. Current CPR (Heartsaver).
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an Electroneurodiagnostic
technology program preferred. Registration with the American Board
of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential
Technologists (ABRET) preferred. Physical Requirements:Employees in
this position are, or can be, required to possess the following
physical capabilities:Lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling
objectsStooping, kneeling and/or crouching dailyStanding or walking
more than 5 hours a dayRunning to respond to patient
emergenciesReaching, grasping, fingering, and/or feeling more than
5 hours a dayVisual acuity in order to correctly distinguish skin
tone variations, evidence of IV infiltration, infection; able to
read telemetry, blood pressure gauges, etc. Audio acuity in order
to correctly distinguish various body sounds (i.e., respirations,
heart tones, bowel sounds). Audio acuity to discern sounds made by
various types of machinery or equipment that would indicate
