Job Description:
Wehner Multifamily is looking for a skilled and experienced
Maintenance Technician for one of our apartment communities. This
posiion will be responsible for the general upkeep of our
properties, positive resident relations, and working in the
direction of company goals. The Maintenance Technician is also
responsible to complete any other assignments as directed by
management.The duties and responsibilities include the following,
though other duties may be assigned:
- Ensure all work orders and maintenance programs are completed
in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, heating and cooling
apparatus, and electrical devices and fixtures.
- Repairs and installs plumbing fixtures, heating and cooling
apparatus, and electrical devices and fixtures.
- Perform painting duties as needed.
- Fabricate and finish wood products.
- Operate and maintain shop and other power equipment.
- Install and finish drywall, paneling and other masonry as
needed.
- Work with all levels of staff on related projects and duties as
assigned.
- Complete basic service requests such as: replacing light
bulbs/light kits, unclogging toilets, garbage disposal
installation/repair, basic water heater repair, basic cleaning and
resident services.
- Repair plumbing, appliance, electrical, and carpentry.
- Maintain work order system, logs, and other records as
needed.
- Timely reporting of incidents that include property loss or
work related injuries.
- Assist in the inspections of vacant apartments and takes
appropriate action to prepare them for leasing.
- Ensure compliance with Wehner Multifamily Company policy, as
well as federal and local regulations.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make
adjustments.
- Grounds and equipment upkeep.
- Must comply with all local, state, federal guidelines as well
as company policies & procedures.
- On call duty and weekend work schedules to be expected for
emergency maintenance service.The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to
several properties.
- Able to work with moderate to minimal direct supervision.
- Able to work in fast-paced environment while remaining
conscientious and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Good human relation skills demonstrating the ability to deal
with Residents, Peers and Supervisors.The physical requirements and
work environment characteristics described here are representative

- Moderate to high stress level.
- Moderate noise level.
- Occasional standing and lifting of at least 10 pounds.
- Moderate Heat/Cold environments.
- General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance repair and
service including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC,
general maintenance.
- Previous maintenance experience.
- Experience in residential property maintenance or related
field.
- Related business/industry (real estate / property management)
