We are all part of the solution. Overview:We are seeking a talented Pharmacy Tech to join our team at our Cordant Community Pharmacy in Oklahoma City, OK. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for working under the direction of a pharmacist. This role is responsible for coordinating care, communication, and processes between various stakeholders such as pharmacies, patients, prescribers, payors and other third parties. Candidates should be efficient, organized, have impeccable attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm, with a lunch break from 12:30pm-1:30pm. The compensation for this position starts between $16-$19 per hour, based on experience.Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

  • Assists the Pharmacist with the daily operations of the specialty care programs.
  • Answers incoming calls to the specialty team and handles caller with pleasant and friendly demeanor. Handles or triages the call appropriately. Manages and handles all incoming faxes appropriately and efficiently.
  • Completes data entry of patient and prescription information into pharmacy system and specialty program.
  • Completes patient welcome and refill compliance calls according to talking points and procedures. Ability to describe the company's specialty program to patients and prescribers.
  • Manages communication with prescribers to resolve issues and to provide updates of patients and prescription statues.
  • Adjudicates prescription claims in the appropriate pharmacy system to ensure accurate billing and payment for product.
  • Completes benefits investigations for specialty patients and resolve any payer rejections, such as prior authorization coordination, and appeals.
  • Enrolls and coordinates patient financial assistance and support services, like copay cards, funding assistance and manufacturer support programs.
  • Coordinates specialty drug dispense with appropriate pharmacy for pick up or shipment. Schedules and track shipments, or deliveries of specialty prescriptions and follow up on exceptions.
  • Maintains compliance with company policies and procedures, and complies with all laws regulating pharmacy services. Maintains all PHI according to HIPAA rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist.Qualifications:Education and Experience:
    • Active certification from the Oklahoma board of pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
      • License must be in good standing
      • High School Diploma/GED required
      • 2+ years' experience and/or training as a Registered Pharmacy Technician, preferred.

        Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
        • Knowledge of pharmacy dispending systems
        • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
        • Communicates effectively with customers, referring physician staff, and colleagues/employees of organization
        • Ability to interact and communicate with people over the phone, sometimes in stressful situations
        • Detail oriented and able to multi-task
        • Basic data entry and/or word processing skills
        • Ability to verify data input and correct errors
        • Reads and accurately interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
        • Conveys empathy and understanding when handling customer service issues
        • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
        • Computes rates, ratios, and percentages
        • Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

          Working Conditions:
          • Light to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.) -Heavier weights with assistance
          • Sitting & standing for long periods of time
          • Repetitive motions and/or prolonged computer use
          • Working at a fast pace, subject to many interruptions and both physical and mental stress
