Permanency Worker - 8939*Oklahoma City, OK - Mental Health - Full Time*_Posted 3 days ago - Apply before May 25, 2024_*Apply**Save*DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Full Time Permanency Worker to join our Child Welfare Permanency Team C team located at the Lincoln Building working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.*Summary:*Employee will serve as an advocate for First American families who are at risk of having their children removed or who have had their children removed as a result of child abuse and/or neglect. The employee will collaborate and engage with individuals, children, and families dealing with issues related to or stemming from mental illness, substance abuse, family and domestic violence, poverty and/or lack of protective capacity. Employee is subject to on-call status during non-business hours. May be required to manage dangerous situations. Supports the mission of the Chickasaw Nation, and; demonstrates core values in all work functions.*Responsibilities:** Develops and maintains cooperative referral relationships; facilitates and tracks referrals* Connects children and families to resources and education on sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, and neglect* Conducts regular home visits to children placed in biological home, foster home, therapeutic foster care homes, group homes, inpatient facilities, youth shelters, etc.* Assists and assesses parent and child interactions during supervised visitation and in-home interaction. Facilitates sibling and grandparent visits on at least a monthly basis* Engages children and families in order to collect information to assist with determining needs and conducts family team meetings in order to help develop individual service plans* Provides written reports and/or testimony regarding the progress of families to the appropriate court of jurisdiction* Acts as a liaison between the Chickasaw Nation, outside agencies and/or courts to provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for Chickasaw children and families* Maintains a database to document incidents of child abuse and neglect and family violence and the disposition of these cases* May engage in public speaking to schools, community organizations, employee groups, citizen meetings, events, etc.* Prepares monthly reports* Provide holistic and comprehensive case management services to all clients* Ensures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines for assigned work area* May transport items within the Chickasaw Nation with an emphasis in and around assigned area* Maintains files, logs, and records* Answers the phone, transfers calls, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types* Shares responsibilities for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment* Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment* Observes and addresses potential environmental hazards and risks* Maintains and promotes professionalism* Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics* Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* May provide break coverage for others as assigned* May augment staff in other areas as needed based on staffing and needs ratio in regularly assigned unit* Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* All other duties as assigned*Competencies:*Essential:* Follow instructions, both written and oral* Adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Read, understand and apply regulations and policies* Understand Native American culture and tribal programs* Understand Chickasaw law and law enforcement regulations* Proficiency in computer applications specific to role* Knowledge of Indian Child Welfare Act or Statues* Knowledge of courtroom protocol and mannerisms* Knowledge of cycle of abuse domestic, substance, mental, etc* Ability to implement investigative techniques* Builds effective working relationships* Communicates verbally with team, departments, guests and management*Skills:*Essential:* Basic Computer skills* Must be familiar with the MS Office Suite of products* Must be able to operate related office equipment*Experience:*Nonessential:* 1 year directly related experience*Education:*Essential:* Bachelors Other*Credentials:*Essential:* Must be over 21 years old* Pass general background check* Pass Indian Child Welfare background check*Working Conditions:*Essential:* Mix of office/non-office settings* Potentially dangerous situations* Pass pre-employment drug test* Travel is primarily in Oklahoma* Transport children* May work flexible schedule* May be on-call* May be required to work after hours or on weekends as needed* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 30 lbs#INDJob Type: Full-timeWork Location: In personby Jobble
