Job Description:Kanban CoordinatorProvides logistical and expediting support to material flow in production areas. Coordinates information flow and logistics support from conversion to and maintenance of Kanban systems.Resolves daily materials issues and maintains schedules for production. Enhances performance of the production plan by developing and improving production control methods in relationship to company goals and measures.Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates data gathering and processing of information to maintain and support Kanban production management systems. Reviews production documentation, verifying accuracy of information.
  • Assists team members in production and material distribution with understanding the Kanban procedures and philosophy.Orients and demonstrates proper documentation and communications of production and materials related events.
  • Continually monitors production and parts/materials/supplies usage.Coordinates with Buyers and Traffic Department to secure adequate levels of inventory to support assembly.
  • Participates with others to continually improve production control and scheduling methods.Collects information to support variance analysis of production outcomes.
  • Supports the production assembly teams by expediting information flow and resolving problems associated with maintaining pace, engineering change notices, customer requests, and materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.Basic Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 2years minimum experience as a production assembly worker, material distribution specialist, and/or inventory control specialist
    • 1-year MS Office experience
    • Must be able to obtain forklift certification through TerexPreferred Qualifications:
      • Working knowledge of the complete production process, cycles, and layout used for the area of assignment.Requires a working knowledge of inventory control methods, locations, and logistics for material distribution to workstations. Requires a basic knowledge of production planning and control.Requires sufficient human relations skill to deal positively and effectively with internal and external customers.
      • Ability to carry out the requirements of the job. Requires the ability to complete logistic and problem-solving efforts on a timely and urgent basis. Requires the ability to read and understand production plans and specifications. Must be able to use common business computer software and perform data entry and retrieval onto manufacturing/inventory control databases.
      • Standing and walking for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment. Will also use computer and standard office equipment.
      • Data Loader experience is a plus
      • Experience with Excel
      • CPIM desiredThe salary range for this position is $16.92 - $25.38 per hour.
