Public Safety Dispatch Durant Security

Description

Starting Rate: $17.55 / hr

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for Tribal Police, Tribal Security and Tribal EMS.

Primary Tasks:

• Knowledge of personal computers and basic computer functions
• Knowledge of communications equipment and proper terminology of radio etiquette.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Must be able to maintain poise and professionalism under stress.
• Ability to answer incoming calls both on phone lines and radio communications simultaneously.
• Knowledge of customer service techniques and concepts.
• Ability to maintain dispatch logs of Tribal Police, Security and EMS on the assigned computer program
• Other duties as assigned
  Required Education, Skills and Experience:
  
  MINIMUM
  

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently possess or can obtain and maintain an OLETS certification required
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Displays the ability to reason and react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
• Exhibits the ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
• Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimum direction and communicate with groups and or individuals quickly and effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must have knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate hardware and software.
  TARGET

  • Prior Dispatching experience preferred.
