Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal
Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of
qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering
organization. This role is located in Oklahoma City, OK.
In this role you will be conducting research, writing requirements,
developing models, and performing analysis while working within an
Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure to drive the development of
new program requirements, refine existing program requirements, and
influence the pursuit of future technologies and capabilities. The
selected candidate will collaborate across the engineering
disciplines and technology areas to integrate and communicate
technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and
external customers across multiple simultaneous Modernization and
Sustainment efforts.
This position may be filled at either the Principal Systems
Engineer OR Senior Principal Systems Engineer level.
Key Responsibilities:
---Develop, mature, and coordinate requirements, and model
artifacts to support the design, development, and sustainment of
integrated components of a large system across multiple
contracts.
---Ensure all Systems Engineering work instructions, style guides
etc. are implemented and followed, and educate team members on
relevant processes and plans.
---Maintain Systems Engineering artifacts following proper
configuration management procedures.
---Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure proper verification
and validation of Systems Engineering artifacts
---Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with
excellent communications skills to support coordination across IPTs
and with external customers.
---Solicit input from various stakeholders and team members to
synthesize data and communicate findings and recommendations
clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
---Administer primary requirements management tool (DOORS) and
provide ultimate approval authority for final changes to be
integrated into program baselines

Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer :
--- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of
related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR
a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related
professional/military experience in Systems Engineering. OR a PH.D.
in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military
experience in Systems Engineering.
---Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a
background investigation completed within the last 6 years or
currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation.
---Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access
Program (SAP) clearance.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer :
--- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of
related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR
a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related
professional/military experience in Systems Engineering. OR a PH.D.
in a STEM discipline AND 4 years of related professional/military
experience in Systems Engineering.
---Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a
background investigation completed within the last 6 years or
currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation.
---Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access
Program (SAP) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
---Active SAP clearance.
---Previous experience in aviation and defense programs.
---Experience with DOORS, including administration
---Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing
requirements
---Familiarity with Agile practices.
---Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts
and tools (CAMEO)
---Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Crucible)
---Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and
problem-solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset
---Experience with object-oriented modeling and software best
practices.
---Proven ability to brief technical presentations to
stakeholders.
Salary Range: $83,000 USD - $124,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $102,900 USD - $154,300 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
