Position Title:Patient Access Team Lead - 7a - 3pDepartment:AdmittingJob Description:General Description: Responsible for providing feedback on daily registration processes and staffing issues to the Patient Access Supervisor. Provide assistance to staff level employees as necessary to insure compliance with department policies and procedures. Assist supervisor with staffing, report reconciliation, QA process, and other duties as assigned.Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. Staffs and orders supplies according to budget guidelines and department needsMaintains QA statistics (including patient wait times, etc.) and reports results to SupervisorOversees the daily activities of the registration area to insure department standards are metAssists Supervisor in educating registration staff of any changes pertinent to their rolesWhen appropriate, relieves staff members during employee sick/vacation timeSecures all signatures necessary for treatments, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits and payment of services from legally responsible patientsWorks closely and professionally with nursing and ancillary departments in effort to maintain a teamwork approachExcels in all functions performed by patient representativesCollects/requests deposits and copaysAssumes on-call responsibilities to insure adequate staffing and problem-solvingRegisters all patient typesAssists in resolving patient concernsAssists Supervisor to insure all personnel department policies and procedures are followedActs in capacity of supervisor in his/her absence, and informs Supervisor of all issues upon his/her returnMaintains effectiveness of patient flowAttends in-service presentations, and completes mandatory education week, including but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA standards.Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issuesPractices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"General Responsibilities:Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or GED required.Experience: 3 years Patient Access experience preferredLicensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: NoneKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writingCustomer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by constantly meeting and exceeding expectationsInterpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external partiesPC skills - demonstrates proficiency in PC applications as requiredPolicies & Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systemsBasic skills - able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accuratelyCurrent OU Health Employees - Please click HERE to login.OU Health is an equal opportunity employer.
