Patient Account RepresentativeBusy, fast-paced GI physician group is looking for a dependable team member experienced in processing and managing insurance claims (i.e., appeals, denials, low pays, bundled, refiling, etc), resolving patient accounts (i.e, engaging in payment arrangements, audit and reconciliation of patient accounts, explaining insurance benefits, collecting patient payments, etc) and any other tasks within the scope associated with the accounts receivable. Position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 - 4:30 with great benefits. EOE.Patient Account RepresentativeReports To: Business Services Director, Business Services SupervisorPosition Summary: -- Responsible for re-filing of insurance claims and claims follow-up.-- Assists patients with questions regarding their accounts.-- Assists in overall accounts receivable management process.-- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA regulations/standards.-- Performs all other duties and tasks as delegated and/or assigned.Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.Experience Requirements: Eighteen months prior insurance processing experience and accounts receivable maintenance.Job Knowledge: Knowledge of: medical terminology, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in order to type correspondence. Knowledge of the insurance industry. Knowledge of CPT codes, diagnostic codes, modifiers and Medicare regulations. Skill in operating a computer and photocopy/fax. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Physical Requirements: -- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.-- Requires moderate periods of walking and standing.-- Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. occasionally.-- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.-- Requires normal range of hearing and sight to record, prepare, and communicate reports.-- Uses arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.-- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing in English.Work Environment: Works in heated and air-conditioned area. Exposure Determination: Category III - minimal potential for occupational exposure to infectious materials and contagious conditions. Must follow universal precautions. Must follow CDC hand-washing guidelines and practice good personal hygiene.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $15.00 per hourBenefits:
