Adjustment Specialist - DFW

Job Description:

The Adjustment Specialist is responsible for processing assigned prior period adjustments to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency under close supervision and guidance. This role requires coordination, research and outreach to clients and internal partners.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, process, and files prior period adjustments in the Paycom system according to the customers and Paycom managements instructions.
  • Answer incoming calls and/or e-mails from internal and external customers on a timely basis
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with internal departments to proactively resolve client concerns in regards to outstanding prior period adjustments
  • Interacts with clients directly on complex tax, legal and payroll questions
  • Provides alternative resolutions for clients in partnership with internal department specialists and leaders, while using basic technical and negotiating knowledge
  • Demonstrate initiative by constantly looking for and recommending ways to improve Paycom operations and/or customer service.
  • Assists Paycom management with special projects including quarter-end and year-end processing.
  • Complete projects accurately and timely as defined by Paycom management
  • Attends Paycom trainings as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Certification:

  • HS Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 1 year demonstrated customer service experience in prior roles
  • 1 year of experience in office setting
  • Proficient knowledge of the GL, benefits, payroll and earning functions
  • Business acumen acquired from working in a business-to-business setting

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:     

  • Associate degree in business related field

Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic mathematics, accounting, tax and finance principles.
  • Knowledge of basic auditing, reconciliation and general ledger principles
  • Knowledge of basic contract law and legal terms
  • Communication skills to clarify, expand or modify work requests with internal and external partners and customers in oral and written formats
  • Basic research skills for regulations, laws and computer systems
  • Demonstrated experience in customer relationships with moderately to very complex products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to use self-discretion, time management and prioritization of daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Must have basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word applications
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting and principles.
  • Familiar with third party payroll and/or accounting software
  • Knowledge and understanding of general billing principles and practices
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Cooperative and able to effectively work on a team
  • Ability to work overtime when required to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use computer applications, printers, copier, fax machine and telephone
  • Ability to perform research and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to research complex issues with supervision
  • Ability to manage complex projects with supervision
