Work Control Supervisor

Overview

Manages the scheduling and work planning for all Facility Operations and Management (O&M). Reviews and maintains technical drawings to include as-built drawings, installed equipment and infrastructure. Manages and performs service call and work order tasks to completion.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

Major Job Activities:

  • Ensures existing facilities are properly allocated and maintained to meet Mission requirements and their conditions are properly documented in a timely manner.
  • Ensure technical documentation is properly reviewed and maintained and made available in a timely manner.
  • Update installation plans, facility plans, building history files, and street address listing.
  • Answers service calls as required and either complete the work alone or assign other public works personnel in work order or service call completion.
  • Ensure technical documents and reference materials are properly maintained and made available in a timely manner.
  • Reviews project specifications concerning assistance required, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions, design changes, and reports
  • Driving company vehicle to transport staff from worksite to designated locations.
  • Test and repair various electronic systems or instruments.
  • Run tests or fault diagnostics on equipment to locate and address a problem, order parts if needed, and replace or repair parts.
  • Reassembling circuit boards, motor components, or other structures within a system Run initial tests on new electronic systems or equipment.
  • Follow wiring diagrams, drawings, and schematics to ensure that all systems are installed correctly. Upgrading software and running software tests on existing electronic systems.
  • Maintaining detailed records of validity tests and upgrades performed.
  • Perform routine, regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on electronic equipment to avoid issues and potential down time.
  • Log maintenance tasks that were completed on what dates and when certain tasks should be performed again in the future.
  • Responsible for care, maintenance, and safeguarding of Government equipment, tools, property, and materials.
  • Analyze and perform troubleshooting of networks.
  • Exercise network security policies and procedures and identify possible faults.
  • Use network analysis tools and observation techniques to recommend changes based on trends.
  • Provide technical and operational requirements to improve performance and quality of service for all networks and systems.
  • Create, track and update trouble tickets as necessary.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Material & Equipment Directly Used:

Personal computer, fax machine, fax modem and other standard office equipment.

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Activities:

Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, and prolonged sitting. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire and Safety Regulations and published company work rules.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

  • High School Dipolma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Satisfactory completion of a military or recognized trade school or correspondence course (Electronics Technician), or have a minimum of 4 years apprenticeship or equivalent work experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in management or supervisory capacity.
  • Must be able to collect and analyze data and make recommendations on such things as mean time to failure on equipment.
  • Must be able to prepare analyses on all aspects of public works branch activities.
  • Must be very knowledgeable and highly proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point programs and be detail oriented.

Supervisory and Budgetary Responsibilities:

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the given service line.
