Job Description:

Provides outpatient therapy to adults and families for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the persons served.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Full-Time: Provide 55% of time in direct consumer service calculated from the total number of hours worked per week
  • Part-Time: Average 15 hours of time in direct consumer services per week. Part-time staff weekly schedule, including shall not exceed 29 hours per week
  • Provides services with professional enthusiasm that are welcoming, engaging and accessible. These services are recovery focused, family systems cognizant, strengths based, culturally competent, consumer centered, co-occurring capable, and trauma-informed. Works as part of treatment team to meet the needs of the consumer in a timely and thorough manner. Interacts with consumers in a respectful, genuine and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in evidence based practices through experience, education and consultation. Able to serve a wide spectrum of complex clinical presentations and provide brief evidence based treatment when indicated, including crisis intervention and management of suicidality. Provides individual, family and group therapy. Works independently and provides mentorship to colleagues regarding clinical care.
  • Promotes an organizational culture within AFOS and NorthCare that values clinically excellent services, professionalism in presentation as a representative of AFOS and NorthCare, and is warm and engaging. Promotes such values within interactions with fellow staff, consumers and community partners; with office arrangement and site appearance; and with daily professional dress.
  • Performs intake interviews, which includes the gathering of information about the consumer's symptoms, behavior, functioning, history, needs, goals and preferences. Obtains necessary releases and consents and advises the consumers about their rights and responsibilities. Consults with other program staff, as needed, to facilitate referrals.
  • Conducts initial assessments on persons identified with alcohol or drug abuse/dependence and mental health disorders. Meets the requirements for Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment Practitioner (AODTP) status and is familiar with the ASI, ASAM, and other instruments commonly used by substance abuse professionals and is certified/competent in their administration and interpretation.
  • Provides Co-Occurring Counseling services utilizing a combination of educational and process oriented interventions using evidence-based practices. Topic areas might include, but are not limited to: disease concept, 12 step recovery model, relapse prevention, etc. Additional consultation and supervision for LADC may be sought, depending on the availability of an on-site, Board-approved supervisor.
  • May serve consumers participating in the Oklahoma County Drug/DUI Court, Female Diversion and other court-related services, performing such functions including but not limited to attending weekly staffing, composing weekly court reports, and assessment of consumer's overall treatment progress.
  • Maintains clinical records in a timely manner, as required by agency, funding sources and accreditation authorities. Completes all required forms and maintains same in a manner consistent with requirements.
  • Provides case management services for consumer, assisting then in obtaining needed benefits and resources, including, but not limited to, housing, employment, medical, recreation, social and family supports, nutritional information and medication. Establishes linkage with inpatient treatment teams and provides support services to consumers who are hospitalized and being discharges from hospitalizations. Must be knowledgeable of community resources and maintain positive working relationships with other agencies.
  • Facilitates referral of consumers into the appropriate agency program(s) or to another community provider. Schedules intake and medication clinic appointments for consumers referred into the agency.
  • Return phone calls and cell text pages promptly and check and respond to email daily
  • Works with consumers to provide support through follow-up phone calls and engagement in peer support groups in order to support the recovery process and maintain engagement in services
  • Participate in weekly departmental staff meetings, clinical didactics and consultation as well as seek and accept consultation from supervisor on challenging or difficult issues.
  • Maintain professional competency in his/her discipline through appropriate professional readings, attendance at workshops and conferences and through consultation with other professionals.
  • Knowledgeable regarding: NorthCare's electronic record system and public folders; ODMHSAS Services manual, contract requirements, and benchmarks; National Outcome Measures (NOMS), Medicaid rules and regulations, contract requirements (including DUI/Drug Court and Female Diversion), and benchmarks.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned by the supervisor and or executive staff.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Must be licensed LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LBP in state of Oklahoma; if licensed, employee must complete continuing education requirements to required for licensure maintenance. Minimum of two years at NorthCare meeting annual productivity and documentation expectations. Must be able to move about facilities freely and climb stairs. Must display proficiency in the MS Word processing software and intermediate general computer skills. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally with English-speaking consumers. Employee must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Casual professional dress is required with adherence to dress code requirements particular to the program. Every NorthCare employee is responsible for adhering to any and all laws, professional standards and ethical codes that apply to his/her job responsibilities.Must possess and maintain CPR, First Aid and CAPE certifications; or obtain within 30 days of employment with NorthCare, if required by director or supervisor. Must have current (within past year) TB test; or obtain within 30 days of employment with NorthCare. Must possess or obtain Core Level Training and Trauma Informed Training via NetSmart University within 30 days of employment with NorthCare. Must maintain AODTP status by completing annual continuing education requirements.
