NOTE: The normal starting salary for this position is
$8.25/hourly. A higher salary may be considered, dependent on the
qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.
This job classification has been designated as a safety
sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma
Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., 427.1 et
seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees
in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up
to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana
components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana
This position is located in the Parks and Recreation Department,
with the City of Oklahoma City and is responsible for assisting in
conducting various recreation activities at the assigned worksite.
Typical duties include: greeting the public and providing customer
assistance; measuring height of patrons and issuing appropriate
bands that allow access to aquatic attractions; directing patron
flow on the attractions by monitoring and telling patrons when it
is safe to start the ride; alerting the aquatic safety team of any
difficulties with patrons in line or on attractions; preparing
facility for scheduled activities; exchanging information and
providing assistance and service to the general public and program
participants; ensuring the general safety of program participants;
enforcing applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
monitoring spectators, participants, activities and conditions in
and around facilities to ensure orderly conduct; receiving, storing
and issuing equipment and supplies. Ability to travel is

NOTE: This position will occasionally accept cash and make
change; operate a concession stand or gift shop; and collect fees,
admission tickets, and passes from patrons at various events or
