Aircraft Modernization and Modifications (AMM) Programs in the
Strike, Surveillance and Mobility division of Boeing Defense, Space
& Security (BDS) is seeking Senior Systems Engineers (minimum 14
years of Systems Engineering Experience) to provide high-quality,
affordable aircraft engineering solutions and support to our
military, commercial, and heads of state aircraft customers
throughout the United States and around the world. Our focus is on
the modernization and modification of aircraft to extend platform
life and maintain mission readiness and aircraft relevance. This
position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Senior Systems Engineers, as technical leaders:
Applies a disciplined interdisciplinary/cross functional
collaborative approach (-Systems Engineering V-) to plan, design,
develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and
system solutions throughout a program's life cycle.
Integrates across capability teams to ensure effective execution of
the technical scope of work. Mentor and coach less experienced
Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems
and/or system architecture.
Leads/provides over-sight on the analyses for, safety, reliability,
maintainability, testability, human systems integration,
survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security,
regulatory, certification, product assurance and other
Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate
system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and
assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program
Utilizes metrics to effectively manage configuration, requirements,
interfaces and risks.
In summary, Senior Systems Engineers are dynamic technical leaders
developing and managing the overall technical solution within a
program with the SEIT manager and Chief Engineer, which includes
but not limited in the following areas:
Systems Engineering mentoring and coaching
System requirement, decomposition and allocation
System architecture, design, and synthesis
System functional analysis
System verification and validation
Configuration management and data management
Supports/Leads program and customer meetings
Develops and delivers SEIT products such as architecture
models/documents, requirements databases, specifications, etc.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security
Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
Minimum of 10 years of Systems Engineering Experience
Demonstrated technical leader of engineering teams
Skill and ability to: Collaborate and lead diverse teams, collect,
organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop
conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
Using a variety of media, clearly conveys information and ideas to
individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and
helps them understand and retain the message
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering
Meet US Government minimal US Security Clearance application
Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system,
sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product
Knowledge of database management tools (e.g. Records Management
Database, Access, Excel)
Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical,
mechanical, and systems
Knowledge of system architecture modeling and toolsTypical
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work
experience). ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not
required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
