Systems Design and Analysis Engineer (Level 4) with experience in
Landing Gear Systems for the Tankers Air Vehicle team located in
Oklahoma City, OK. The team is responsible for developing and
performing design engineering for sustainment, modification and
improvements of military and commercial derivative aircrafts.A
successful candidate for this position will possess Adaptability,

Management, and Engineering Judgment.Primary Responsibilities:Your
duties as a Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer will
include (but are not limited to):
- Establishes and documents mechanical component and system level
design requirements (eg performance, environment, functionality,
life, envelope, integration). Evaluates requirements for
completeness and feasibility.
- Performs and documents analyses of mechanical components and
systems using models and tools to validate or assess the design.
Analyses include performance, root cause, sensitivity, tolerance,
mechanism, dynamic, structural and thermal.
- Develops and supports Boeing intellectual property. Assists in
developing tools, techniques and products in response to gaps in
technology road maps, and technology needs. Assists in advancing
state of the art technologies.
- Designs and develops mechanical components and systems. Creates
technical data packages to explicitly define the product. Evaluates
mechanical designs against system requirements. Develops and
maintains specifications for mechanical hardware. Assists in
technical oversight of suppliers and participates in supplier
selection. Conducts and participates in design reviews.
- Demonstrates and documents compliance to applicable regulations
and specifications by similarity, test, analysis, simulation and
design reviews in order to deliver a compliant product.
- Creates plans, schedules, and procedures for tests of
mechanical components and systems. Supports testing (eg,
hardware-in-loop simulations, qualification tests, functional
tests). Evaluates test data to validate components and systems
against design requirements and objectives. Performs similarity and
other verification analyses.
- Provides technical support to internal and external customers
including production, suppliers and fleet operators by
troubleshooting operational anomalies, production assembly or
functional test issues or in-service incidents. Develops cost and
time effective, creative solutions, and disposition of issues to
ensure customer satisfaction.
- Prepares technical documents for mechanical components and
systems to facilitate knowledge retention for future use per
applicable requirements. Tasks include: test reports, analyses,
presentations, design decision memoranda, lessons learned, design
- Supports proposal preparation and new business development
efforts in order to grow the business. Tasks include: work
statement estimates (eg, cost, schedule, task breakdown) and
marketing support. Adheres to all bid and proposal policies and
procedures. Trains and coaches others
- Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation
of analyses of mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and
systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the
designSecurity Clearance and Export Control Requirements:This
position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance,
for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.Basic
Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is
- 3+ years of experience working as an engineer on aircraft
landing gear subsystems definition, installation design, and
- Must have experience working in a cross-functional team setting
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and
analysisTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically
acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited
course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics,
physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical
education and experience (eg PhD+4 years' related work experience,
Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
