Title: Software Engineer QRM Engineer Department/Location: Aircrew
Training Systems/ Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City Supervisor:
Director, Strategic Programs Status: Regular/Full-Time Non-Exempt
Primary Function: This position is for a Software Engineer who will
perform Quick Reaction Modifications (QRM) to aircrew training
systems for the Navy at Tinker AFB. This position is responsible
for the development and maintenance of software source code and
associated documentation. Primary focus of this position will be
associated with the Navy E-6B Operational Flight Trainers (OFT) and
training systems which are located at Tinker AFB, OK. This position
will primarily work independently with direction provided by the
on-site lead. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Encodes, tests,
debugs, and documents software source code for Operational Flight
Trainers. 2. Provides code development and de-bugging for medium to
large projects with proficient software knowledge. 3. Prepares
programming specifications, requirements and writes programs of a
technical nature based on input from the users and onsite lead.
Must be able to interpret user input and develop user stories and
requirement to ensure change request can be accomplished. 4.
Knowledgeable in aircraft motion simulators and/ or aeromodeling.
5. Knowledgeable in visual database development and maintenance. 6.
Ability to code in, understand, and implement FORTRAN, Ada, C, and
C++ programs. 7. Must be able to communicate with users for
customer service issues. 8. Develop updates/upgrades for clients.
9. Develop timelines to complete assigned tasking and work
independently as required. 10. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Work Conditions: Employee will be working mostly within an office
environment on base. Employee may travel to work site locations
where employee will be expected to dress in appropriate manner to
deal with clients and customers. Some travel will be necessary to
meet the requirements for the positions. Job Requirements: Minimum
Requirements: -- Bachelor---s degree in Software Engineering or
similar field from an accredited university. -- 2 or more years---
experience working as a software engineer/developer or experience
in flight simulation. -- Employee will be required to be a member
of the Navy---s Cyber Security Work Force and will be required to
complete both Security and Network within 6 months of hire. --
Although FORTRAN, Ada, C, and C++ coding will be required, coding
experience in different languages will be considered. -- Ability to
shift priorities and demands and timelines while still meeting all
expectations and deadlines. -- Employee must be able to work as a
member of a team and independently depending on the project. -- DoD
