Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for providing excellent guest
service. Prepare food products utilizing basic and advanced cooking
techniques. Prepare and serve nourishing and attractive meals and
other foods as required to support the department menu, specific
orders, and store events while providing excellent guest service.
This position is responsible for maintaining open communication on
the status of the department with the Store Directors, Clerks, and
Supervisor. You will be expected to set and re-set priorities,
distinguish between the urgent and the important, solve problems,
hold and reconcile ideas and lead program development as well as
advancement strategies from conception through cultivation to
completion. JOB TYPE: Full time/Part time, hourly position. Must be
available weekdays, weekends, holidays for various shifts,
evenings, and on occasion work at another store location to meet

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Exemplify superior guest service with a
friendly, helpful, and courteous attitude, using product knowledge
and information to answer all questions guests may have about
products e Review food menus and work orders to determine type and
quantities of food to be prepared according to company procedure
Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes
in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost in quality with a minimum
of waste Check temperatures on all food items throughout the day
Ensure the production of high quality merchandise and service
Knowledge of MSDS sheets (Material Safety Data Sheet) Control
freshness by rotating products, coding all products, and removing
out-of-code merchandise Ensure food is fresh and visually
appetizing on plate Maintain and refill food displays and related
products Maximizing sales through excellent guest service and
minimizing shrink through proper utilization of procedures Maintain
compliance with all company policies and regulations pertaining to
safety, sanitation, merchandising, and food quality Enforce Health
Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, proper
steam table temperature, and cleanliness of work environment
Maintain back-stock areas according to company standards Provide
guests with information of product use and preparation Assist in
other departments as needed Perform other duties as assigned to
meet business needs Clean and stock deli cases according to company
standards Make regular announcements to inform guests of special or
freshly prepared food Operate cash register as needed Position
Requirements Eighteen (18) years of age or older Must obtain Food
Handlers' Certification within 30 days of hire Minimum 1 year
experience in preparing plated meals Familiar with food
presentations Excellent guest service skills Must greet the guests
and respond to their questions and requests in a courteous, fast,
friendly, and helpful way Energetic guest service, detail oriented,
friendly personality, and positive attitude Proven leadership
ability to exercise sound judgement in interpreting, communicating,
and applying policy. Courage to make and implement hard decisions
in a timely manner. Ability to demonstrate trustworthiness and
integrity in daily activities Ability to work effectively with a
broad diversity of individuals and backgrounds, and generational
differences, all with the intent to support the core values of the
BFL company. Excellent oral and written communication,
organizational, interpersonal, advocacy, and time management
skills. Display a willingness to become knowledgeable of the
organizational structure, policies, procedures, and operations of
BFL and be a contributing team member. Strong work ethic Knowledge
of food and prices on food cases Knowledge of the use of cooking
utensils like knives, commercial stoves, ovens, fryers, pots, pans,
mixers, and measuring cups and spoons Strong interpersonal skills
JOB PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift a minimum of 45
lbs. frequently Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and squat Able to
stand for long periods of time Ability to read and understand
documents such as recipes, department manual, and company manual
Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus
