Ultrasound Tech Location: Lawton, OK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,246 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Title: Ultrasonographer Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist General ab/ob small parts Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 0700 - 1530 Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Six months experience preferred working in the performance of ultrasound; must be registry eligible. License: Meets requirements for registry by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Certifications: None specified. Must-Have: Minimum qualifications include registry eligibility and ability to provide patient care activities for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Description: Under the supervision of the ultrasound supervisor, assists the radiologist and other physicians in achieving scans and films to support diagnosis. Provides patient care activities, ensuring comfort for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Responsible for proper utilization of Radiology Information System. Participates and implements age-specific care and interactions. Completes all assigned work and duties before leaving at the end of the shift. Anticipates patient needs and establishes rapport with patients and families. Explains procedures to patients and families, gaining their trust. Instructs patients on positioning and breathing techniques to optimize exams. Identifies life-threatening situations and carries out emergency care as permitted. Transports patients to and from the ultrasound department as needed. Confirms information accuracy and charges the exam using the correct codes. Obtains and reviews pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data for optimal diagnostic results. Performs ultrasound exams utilizing proper established procedures. Recognizes significant clinical information from patient records that may affect exams. Produces, assesses, evaluates, and interprets ultrasound images for medical diagnosis. Demonstrates excellent knowledge in all specialized areas of ultrasound. Interprets ultrasound exams to achieve optimum quality and provides summaries of technical findings as required. Documents and records all statistical information and maintains ultrasound logs. Inspects and evaluates equipment for safe and effective operation. Maintains infection control by following universal precautions and cleaning protocols. Responds to on-call duties as scheduled and ensures timely responses. Stocks ultrasound labs with required equipment and items for procedures. Adheres to patient rights and privacy regulations. Confirms two forms of patient identification before performing examinations. Maintains competency through continuing education and training. Handles patients gently and communicates clearly with all healthcare personnel. Makes decisions regarding supply orders and addresses abnormal exam results accordingly. Physically capable of fulfilling role requirements including lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, and operating various equipment. Must be able to clearly hear alarms, conversations, and audible signals from equipment. Must have the ability to read medical terms, protocols, and reports for effective communication.
