ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Neurology for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Neurology - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Neuro PCU Job Details: • Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in a neuro progressive care unit • Work on a stroke and neurology floor that also serves orthopedic and spine patients • Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred • May need to precept new staff and work in virtual room settings • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments • Assist physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed • Initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products • Interact with families and patients regarding care plans and discharge instructions • Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel • Delegate tasks to support staff • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required • Associate's degree in nursing from accredited program required • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred • Current Oklahoma RN license or multistate compact RN license required • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required • Strong verbal and written communication skills required • Computer skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients Facility: This major academic medical center serves as a premier healthcare institution providing comprehensive medical services including specialized neurology and stroke care programs.
