ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work on a mixed stepdown and acute care surgical transplant unit caring for post-surgical kidney, liver and pancreas transplant patients • Must have travel experience and stepdown/PCU experience required • Must have level 1 trauma experience and acute care surgical floor experience • ENT and/or transplant experience preferred • Charge and preceptor experience preferred • Provide close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery • Care for pre-transplant patients being evaluated during inpatient stay • Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed and initiate, regulate and monitor IV infusions and blood products • Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures • Interact with families and patients regarding care plans and discharge planning • Make referrals for patient care needs and delegate tasks to support staff • Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program • Required: Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC) • Required: Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association • Required: Minimum 1 year nursing experience • This is NOT a PACU position and OR candidates will not be accepted Facility: This major academic medical center serves as a comprehensive healthcare facility providing advanced surgical and transplant services.
