Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room Location: Oklahoma City, OK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,146 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Surgical Specialty Specialty: FS Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36.00 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Current RN License issued by the state board or a multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have: - Travel experience - Stepdown/PCU experience - Level 1 experience - Acute care surgical floor experience Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes the physiological manifestations of patients, intervening when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Candidates will care for patients post-operatively. Experience in taking care of patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT is required. Some patients will require step-down care as well. Ratios are 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for step-down area. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is necessary. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques is essential. Must maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors is important. Some computer skills are needed.
