Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Oklahoma City, OK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,248 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN Surgical Specialty Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36.00 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required. License: Current RN License or multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Basic Life Support Certification Must-Have: - Travel experience. - Step down experience. - Acute care surgical floor experience. - Med/Surg experience in a post-surgical environment. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans. Informs patient and family of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Nurses for this unit need Med/Surg experience as this floor has inpatients pre or post-surgical services. Experience taking care of patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, or DHT is required. Some patients will require step down care as well. Ratios are typically 5 or 6:1 for surgical patients and 3 or 4:1 for step down area. Required Skills & Experience: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Basic computer skills are required.
