Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • Float pool position providing nursing care in pediatric intensive care unit • Must have Level 1 and MS (medical surgical) experience • Holiday and weekend work required • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred • Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC) required • Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification required • PALS (American Heart Association) certification required • Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments • Assist physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed and manage IV infusions and blood products • Interact with families and patients regarding care plans and discharge planning • Delegate tasks to support staff and make referrals for patient care needs • Maintain good working relationships with other employees • Respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors Facility: This pediatric medical facility specializes in providing comprehensive healthcare services exclusively for children.
