A contract opportunity is available for a registered nurse with stepdown unit experience to provide specialized care in a cardiovascular-focused setting. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic 33-bed stepdown unit that manages complex cardiac cases, including STEMI/NSTEMI, CHF, and cardiothoracic surgery patients transitioning from the ICU. Location Positioned in Fort Sill, OK, this role provides a unique blend of clinical challenges and community atmosphere. Responsibilities Monitor and care for patients with cardiovascular conditions, including those requiring noninvasive ventilation and antiarrhythmic IV therapy Manage patient care with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, ensuring focused attention on each individual Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans Flexibly float to medical/surgical or emergency departments as needed to cover patient holds Provide vigilant assessment and timely interventions for patients with peripheral vascular compromise and other critical needs Qualifications Current RN licensure Minimum of 2 years experience in a stepdown unit or progressive care environment Proficiency in cardiovascular nursing, especially post-cardiothoracic surgery and cardiac monitoring Ability to work 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. shifts without block scheduling; flexibility to adapt to unit needs Strong critical thinking and communication skills No prior disciplinary action on professional record Schedule 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Flexible shift assignments; no block scheduling This role is ideal for dedicated nurses seeking a challenging contract assignment in a specialized care environment.
