Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology Location: Oklahoma City, OK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,492 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 12 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Adult Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: May be required to work 2 10-hour shifts, 1 12-hour shift, and 1 8-hour shift in a week. Weekends and holidays are required. Experience: 1 year of experience is required. License: Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. Must-Have: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Some computer skills. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a healthcare setting. Administers oral, subcutaneous injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by a physician. Consults with medical personnel and may provide expert information about chemotherapy and side effects. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician during conscious sedation and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan, discharge instructions, and continued care via phone triage. Informs patients and families of clinic procedures. Provides chemotherapy-related educational information to patients and families. Answers inquiries and provides guidance as appropriate. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Schedules patient follow-up activities related to treatment. Assists with coordination of care by obtaining referrals and completing phone calls with patients after clinic visits. Performs other duties as assigned.
