Job Title: PACU RN MRI Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current RN License issued by the state board or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program Description: Under general supervision, this position provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. The RN assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in the physician's orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing the care plan while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Required skills include knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. The ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services is essential. Maintaining good working relationships with other employees is necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills are important. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors is needed. Some computer skills are required. Preferred education includes a Bachelor's of Science or higher in Nursing from a board-approved program. Preferred certifications or licensures are not applicable.
