You can do that at Mercy, now enabling you to commence as a Nurse Intern post-graduation and pre-NCLEX.Upon acquiring licensure, Nurse Interns will progress into their licensed role.Candidates must have confirmed a licensed role before commencing as an intern. Post NCLEX, they will shift into the Licensed role.Overview:Assist in personalized patient care under RN/LPN direction to attain optimal patient wellness. Collaborate effectively within a team, acknowledging group objectives. Carry out specified clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks crucial for patient care. Perform direct patient care tasks across all age groups covering assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation. Execute duties in alignment with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate from an approved or accredited nursing school (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Licensure: Eligible for nursing board exam. In Oklahoma, must have applied to Pearson VUE for testing and made the initial payment for eligibility confirmation, along with transcript and conferral letter submission.
  • Certification/Registration: Hold a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course during probation period.
  • Working Conditions, Mental & Physical Demands: Mostly stand and walk during duty. Adapt to unit-specific physical requirements. Involve in frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with aid. Potential need for varied schedules, shifts, workdays, or frequency based on patient care needs. High exposure risk to body fluids and blood. Physical demands include lifting, pushing, gripping up to 50 lbs., and pinching up to 15 lbs., minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities: Demonstrate professional behavior and stay updated on healthcare advances through ongoing education.Mercy recognizes this as a safety-critical role. Maintaining a state of alertness and working safely are fundamental aspects of this position.
