Job Description Summary
Job Description
The Medical Benefit Drug Trend Report Director is the creator of an
industry leading publication which is recognized as best-in-class
and utilized by stakeholders across the marketplace. This role
integrates the efforts of a multidisciplinary team in developing
robust and insightful content from medical drug claim data and a
health plan survey that is collected and analyzed. The position is
critical to the specialty pharmacy strategy and will be responsible
for developing a compelling narrative around complex data to
influence medical drug management and strategies.
Responsibilities
Design and produce Magellan Rx Medical Pharmacy Drug Trend Report,
including actionable insights from an aggregated review of managed
care surveys, medical drug claim utilization and team input; write
and coordinate key points, integrate feedback from team and partner
with Marketing on editorial and graphic design direction
Oversee the development, execution and administration of an annual
health plan survey; complete in-depth analysis of survey results
and develop survey reports for internal and external audiences for
the trend report
Develop measurement and analytics plan(s) for all Medical Pharmacy
Trend Report projects to produce best in class insights; craft
innovative data and analytics representations that allow insights
to be easily understood and extracted from large amounts of data
and analytical output
Collaborate with Marketing to drive relevant media, campaigns,
promotional activities and communication plans; serve as
external-facing response to press and inquiries in coordination
with through lateral thinking, knowledge of results, meaningful
data insights and the use of innovative forecasting and insight
tools
Collaborate with clinical team to develop new, creative survey
questions that reflect current industry issues; prepare and present
results to internal team, client teams and public audiences
Ensure rigor in all areas of trend report analytics, showcasing the
value and thought leadership of Magellan Rx Management within the
provider and member market

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer, Information Science, Actuarial
Science, Mathematics, Health Sciences or related area of study, or
equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work
experience; HS diploma or GED is required
8 years of work experience in business analysis, data mining, data
analysis, and/or product/project management to include 2 years'
experience developing customer survey measurements and analyzing
health plan claims data
Managed care experience from a health plan or PBM
Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work
visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
Ability to manage multiple, high visibility projects
concurrently
In depth understanding of the pharmacy industry including drugs
paid for on medical benefit
Working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases, query
development
Excellent understanding of business modeling and systems, medical
claims, and utilization management systems
Strong interpersonal and influential skills with internal and
external colleagues
Strong aptitude for writing and willingness to constantly learn
from the diverse therapeutic areas
Preferred Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
2 years of medical writing experience
Minimum Physical Job Requirements

Potential pay for this position ranges from $106,800.00 -
$170,600.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by
8% depending on applicant location.
