Section Chief and Endowed Chair - LAPS status within NCI's National
Clinical Trials Network -OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center seeks a
nationally recognized clinician-scientist to serve as Endowed Chair
and Section Chief of Hematologic Malignancy, Transplant and
Cellular Therapy. The successful candidate will have academic
credentials commensurate with appointment at the rank of Associate
Professor or Professor. Clinical and translational research
experience in hematologic malignancies, blood and marrow
transplant, and cellular therapies is required; experience in solid
tumor cellular therapies is preferred.Opportunity Highlights

the EmployerOU Health, the Stephenson Cancer Center, and the
University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC), Department
of Medicine seek a nationally recognized clinician-scientist to
provide strategic leadership for the clinical, educational,
outreach, and research programs within Hematologic Malignancies as
well as the Transplant and Cellular Therapies Program. Serving as
the Section Chief, Hematologic Malignancy, Transplant and Cellular
Therapy, the incoming leader will oversee a team of seven faculty
members and will have immediate opportunity to hire additional
faculty into the growing program. The incoming Chief will join
during a time of rapid growth and will have a unique opportunity to
guide the program through a major statewide expansion. This
position will be supported by an endowed chair and additional
resources. Additional leadership opportunities may exist for
qualified applicants.Stephenson Cancer Center is Oklahoma's only
NCI-Designated Cancer Center and offers the state's only CAR-T
therapy and comprehensive stem cell transplant program accredited
by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).
Stephenson's cellular therapy specialists performed 170 cellular
therapy and stem cell transplants last year, with more than 2,100
completed transplants since the program began in 1982. -Stephenson
Cancer Center is a lead accruing institution in the Lead Academic
Participating Sites (LAPS) sponsored by the NCI. Their 130 member
investigators are currently working on more than 400 cancer
research projects, supported by $65 million of annual research
funding from the National Institutes of Health, American Cancer
Society, and others. The incoming Chief should have clinical and
translational research experience in hematologic malignancies,
blood and marrow transplant, and cellular therapies; experience in
solid tumor cellular therapies is preferred. -Community
