The Operations Manager will be responsible for processing daily accounting transactions, financial transactions, donor database management, perform clerical functions such as directing calls, distributing mail, scheduling appointments, and assisting with office management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Develop systems to account for financial transactions by establishing and maintaining a chart of accounts.--Define bookkeeping policies and procedures for clients.Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries.Manage accounts payable and prepare client's check runs.Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.Work with contract accountant to conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank and credit card account.Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.Prepare and issue client invoices, review accounts receivable to identify collection issues.Make necessary month-end closing entries.Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements and other schedules as requested by the Executive Director.--Clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining calendars, distributing mail, paying bills, and maintaining files.--Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director or Program Director.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:To perform the job successfully, the qualified candidate should demonstrate attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. They must work well with a small staff and have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. The ideal candidate presents numerical data effectively, works ethically and with integrity, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, has strong verbal and written communication skills, and is comfortable operating a computer with QuickBooks and Donor Management Software.The ideal candidate will have business and bookkeeping experience with a non-profit organization. The preferred candidate will have one - three years full-charge non-profit bookkeeping experience. The preferred candidate will have experience with donor management software and have a good working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software package.
