Specialized Experience:** One year of specialized experiencethat equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills andabilities (KSAs) or competencies to successfully perform the dutiesof the position, and is directly in or related to this position. Toqualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year ofspecialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or equivalentunder other pay systems in the Federal service, military or privatesector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements includingtime-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only),time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and anyother regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of theannouncement. Creditable specialized experience includes:- Conducting assessments of material support or supply chainmanagement and prepare report of findings.- Monitoring supply chain management functions for effectiveness andaccuracy.- Receiving and addressing complaints or deficiencies frommaintenance customers.- Utilizing existing automated supply systems for data entry andresearch.**B. Education Substitution:** Such education must demonstrate theknowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Educationmust be from a college or university accredited by an organizationapproved by the U.S. Department of Education. Seehttp://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx. Combination:** Combinations of successfully completed post-highschool education and experience may be used to meet totalqualification requirements for grade levels GS-09, and may becomputed by first determining the applicant's total qualifyingexperience as a percentage of the experience required for the gradelevel; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage ofthe education required for the grade level; and then adding the twopercentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percentto qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduateeducation in excess of the amount required for the next lower gradelevel may be used to qualify applicants for positions at gradeGS-09.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteerwork done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps,AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, andskills and can provide valuable training and experience thattranslates directly to paid employment.
