Job Description:
This position is responsible for the overall sales efforts and
operational direction for all front of house catering and special
events activities at First Americans Museum.Daily client and
customer contact required as well as inside and outside
sales.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to sell the
business and expand into new target markets within
Oklahoma.Communicate with and lead events staff within the
organization.Ability to drive space rental and catering revenue and
expand on business with sales efforts.Ensure dining activities and
services are provided in a high quality, consistent, and
cost-effective manner.Provide the highest quality banquet and
restaurant services to customer at all times.Performs a wide
variety of basic duties while filling in for others, responding to
and handling special workload requirements, projects, or
events.This position may have to work some holidays.Must be
available to work variable and split shifts Monday - Sunday
depending on the events scheduled.Must be able to read and
interpret Event Forms (BEOs) and Pull Sheets.Must have excellent
communication and customer service skills.Arranges tables and
decorations.Establishes and implements an organized system of
supervision and general operating procedures.Directs and
coordinates the promotion of new services.Is accountable for making
sure all activities and operations comply with applicable internal
and external regulations, laws, and sound business
practices.Supports an active NMS safety program.Continuously seeks
to improve the quality of assigned activities.Directs, trains,
supervises, leads, evaluates, and develops assigned personnel to
keep them informed and motivated.Plans and implements an effective
staff training program.Makes sure the responsibilities,
authorities, and accountability of all assigned employees are
defined and understood.Takes positive actions to facilitate the
employment of NANA shareholders.Consistently demonstrates
professional skills in efficiently carrying out assigned
activities, using all forms of communications, handling of change,
developing employees, solving typical business problems, and making
decisions.May assist with serving food to guests, washing, packing
dishes, and utensils for removal to catering establishments.Other
related duties may also be assigned.QualificationsMinimum
RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.Must have at
least 2 years of formal post-secondary education in the hospitality
field.At least 2 years of successful sales experience in the food
service or hospitality field.ServSafe Certification before or
obtained at time of hire.Previous catering experience a must.The
ability to effectively accomplish service objectives with a sense
of urgency.The ability to work effectively with a minimum of
supervision or support.Must be able to effectively organize people
and service activities.Must be able to balance multiple activities
with an attention to detail.Dedication to understanding and
exceeding customer expectationsWorking Conditions and Physical
RequirementsWeather: Indoors: environmentally controlled; requires
most or all work to be done inside.Noise level: ModerateDescription
of environment: This a fast paced kitchen and dining environment in
a restaurant setting.Physical requirements: Employee is required to
lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand,
walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel,
crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry
