Our Oklahoma practice is seeking an Audit Manager with experience and passion for the Financial Services Industry (banking, insurance, asset management, and other entities serving financial markets). - The BKD audit team provides assurance services that go beyond the compliance function. This high-performing team brings credibility to our client's financial picture, communicates information objectively and clearly, and provides insight to help clients improve their businesses.This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess strong attention to detail, sensitivity to deadlines, and leadership and management capabilities. Dedication to client service is essential, including consistent positive interactions with clients and the demonstration of effective communication and people skills. The successful candidate will be an independent worker with excellent project management and time management skills.What You Will Do:Carry out audit, review, and compilation engagementsEffectively identify and evaluate audit risk, plan engagements and execute the designed audit plan to ensure audit engagements are completed with defendable files and documentationEffectively review engagement work papers prepared by Associates, Senior Associates and others within the organizationManage implementation of new and emerging accounting standardsProvide clients with subject matter expertise in the areas of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Industry Accounting PracticesDemonstrate effective professional writing and communication skills through drafting and reviewing client deliverablesEffectively manage concurrent engagements (including planning, supervising, and executing projects) and meet deadlines without client and team disruptionManage engagement fundamentals (e.g., realization, billing, utilization, leverage)Communicate frequently with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring that appropriate parties remain informed and involved in the project developments and conclusionsDevelop a network of clients and industry resources and deploy marketing techniques to contribute to the growth of the Financial Services team.Assist in managing, developing and coaching professional staffBuild personal referral sources and clientele while actively participate in team marketing opportunitiesParticipate in speaking and article writing opportunitiesComplete CPE specific to the financial services industryA Successful Trusted Advisor Has:The ability to communicate both up and downstream to team staff and exercise judgment in determining client interactionsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple client projects, including monitoring project time budgets and consistently meeting or exceeding agreed-upon deadlinesThe ability to professionally write and communicate deliverables including but not limited to client meetings, internal meetings and projectsAdvanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to learn new software related to the accounting function of an organizationHigh attention to detail as well as the ability to demonstrate strong analytical skillsAbility to complete occasional travelWillingness to embrace lifelong learning and continually look for opportunities to bring value, grow within your areas of expertise and share your passion for the Financial Services industryAn aptitude to recruit and develop firm associates and team membersAn ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment to reach clear-set goalsMinimum Qualifications:5 years or more of audit experience in public accountingCPA licenseBachelor's or Master's degree in accountingExperience managing multiple complex client engagementsPreferred Qualifications:Financial Institutions experienceAt BKD, our mission is to provide rewarding career opportunities and invest in the success of our people.
