What You Will Be Doing

This Includes But Is Not Limited To

This position is primarily responsible for managing a team of Pre-Funding Quality Control (PFQC) Auditors, who perform daily residential QC loan reviews for the lending entities. This role will closely interact with Credit Risk management and Compliance leadership to effectively manage residential mortgage quality control, while ensuring company requirements and industry standards (credit and regulatory compliance) are met.

• Management of auditor assigned pre-funding queues to ensure timely review of selected loan files
• Review and modification of risk based assessments (review scopes) based upon product guidelines, changes in operational processes, change in law, or as needed based upon third party review quality control results
• Oversight of the loan selection process in accordance with company policy and/or agency requirements
• Management of the PFQC and Credit Risk Rebuttal process
• Responsible for aggregation, review and integrity of all PFQC data compiled on a monthly basis
• Presents monthly PFQC trending data to the Executive Performance Counsel (EPC) as applicable
  Principal Accountabilities
  
  • Manages pre-funding queues for all residential channels of business
  • Ensures independence in the loan selection process by managing randomized report sampling and methodology
  • Targets loan selection as needed based upon individual or portfolio performance
  • Ensure auditor consistency in applying review scopes and risk based assessments, to include random shadow auditing of the team
  • Performs escalation reviews as needed and/or requested by Credit Risk or auditors
  • Ensures all PFQC reporting is released by the 17th of the month for the previous month
  • Assists COS to lead technological PFQC initiatives to ensure integrated reviews provide robust QC reporting
  • Analyzes monthly quality control data from PCQC and TPR firms (external auditing) to assess the effectiveness of PFQC reviews; make adjustments and/or recommendations for remediation as needed
  • Meets with each PFQC auditor monthly to evaluate performance, goals and objectives for the role; provides guidance and correction action(s) as applicable
  • Assist with research, resolution, and response to investor missing document and repurchase requests as necessary and/or requested.
    What You Need for this Position
    
    Minimum
    
    Qualifications
    
    • 8+ years credit underwriting or forensic underwriting experience with a variety of products including manual underwriting, Conventional/FHA/VA/USDA loans
    • 3 years personnel management experience
    • Ability to analyze, interpret and present data
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task under heavy workload
    • Effective written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate with multiple levels of leadership within an organization
    • Meet deadline requirements in a fast paced environment
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS PPT
      Preferred: Manual UW experience with alt lending/ non-prime products, or government insured programs; JUMBO Prime Underwriting experience; DE/LAPP certified Underwriter.
      Exposure to PLS market and Third Party Review platforms; working knowledge of TRID requirements relative to timing and tolerance thresholds. Encompass 360 experience strongly preferred.
