The Aircraft Modernization (AM) Integrated Product Team (IPT) provides innovative aircraft platform solutions to a broad range of military and commercial military derivative aircraft. The AM IPT is part of the Northrop Grumman Technology Services (NGTS) Sustainment Engineering & Technical Center (SETC) based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Come be a part of our team as a Principal Aeronautical Engineer supporting C-130 Avionics Maintenance and Modernization. Responsibilities: * Designs, develops, and tests aircraft, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight * Establishes structural specifications, performs stress analysis, and conducts performance tests. * Performs duties including traceability to CNS/ATM requirements, stress & load analysis, and physical configuration audits of aircraft for the modifications * Evaluates compliance to civil surveillance certification requirements by producing performance assessment reports of United States Air Force (USAF) aircraft platforms * Performs detailed reviews of contractor deliverables and advises on acceptability for approval. * Conducts briefings, trade studies, business proposals, progress reports, test reports, etc. Basic Qualifications: * Must have one of the following: * A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience * A Master's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience * A PhD in a STEM field * Experience working with airworthiness certification processes for commercial or military aircraft (MIL-HDBK-516C and civil Part 23/25) * Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of defense (DoD) Secret security clearance * Must be able to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with CNS/ATM and RNAV/RNP requirements * Experience with Higher Level Quality Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, CMMI) * Knowledge and/or experience with other MIL-STD's (MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-704, 1275, 464, etc.) * Knowledge regarding the airworthiness certification process for commercial or military aircraft (MIL-STD-516C, DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, FAA STC, etc.) * An active DoD Secret security clearance (or higher) Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
