Job Description:

Primary point of contact for Data Center technologies and related mechanical devices. Participates in projects to design and implement mechanical and electrical improvements to data centers. Develops procedures to outline data center processes, and related tasks. Participates and leads in the design and engineering data center technologies and future datacenter related initiatives. Mentors Data Center Operations team members and helps increase their effectiveness and skillset. Serves as a Level I escalation point for Data Center monitoring team to address critical/complex Data Center related issues. Key contributor and driver of important, challenging and high-visibility team projects.RESPONSIBILITIESActs as Subject Matter Expert and first level support for the operation and maintenance of the Data Center, technologiesHelps lead small projects assigned to Data Center TeamParticipates in projects related to data center design, construction and certificationsParticipates in projects related to data center design and architectureParticipates in projects related to data center construction and design to achieve Uptime Institute Data Center Tier levelsParticipates in opportunities for improvement and architecture changesDevelops and implements strategies to ensure proper power, cooling and other capacity needsImplements strategies to ensure proper power, cooling and other capacity needs of the Data Center to ensure availabilityAs required must be available on a 24-hour basis for emergency support. Only when required and considered abnormal to general operations.Establishes specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements.Maintains Data Center performance by performing monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting problems, escalating problems to vendors, ectUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsProtects organization's value by keeping information confidentialAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Documents specific duties, activities, problems solved and issues resolvedAttends meetings and serves on committees, as requestedRegular attendance as requiredPerforms additional duties and assignments as requestedEducation/Certification:High School graduate requiredBachelors degree requiredCDCTP Certified Data Center Technician ProfessionalDCCA Schneider Electric Data Center Certified AssociateBICSI Data Center Design ConsultantExperience:7 years of related experienceAdditional Requirement(s):Due to the nature of this position and the need for employees in this position to either work an on-call schedule or be on site within a short period of time, the successful applicant must live within 45-miles of the posted office location.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Certification:Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering PreferredExperience:Expertise with Microsoft Office (Office, Word, OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)Advanced Zoom administrative userExperience planning and managing executive meetings and eventsKnowledge of:Datacenter HVAC, CRAC, CRAH cooling technologiesDatacenter power, UPS, generator operations, etcDatacenter fire suppression systems (FM200, HFC125, etc)General knowledge of datacenter design and constructionLAN/WANEmerging Technology TrendsDatacenter Best Practice and Industry Standard MethodologySkills/Abilities:Evaluate critical systems, prioritize workflow and determine solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsInterpret and apply laws, regulations and policiesRead and understand technical manualsWork for extended time at keyboard/terminalMaintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkersWork flexible hours, including weekends and eveningsValue open, honest communicationEager to be transparent and truthful as a primary matter of coursePaycom is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
