Job Description:
As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Become the focal point on focus technologies and development
efforts across the energy transition space including CCUS and
hydrogen value chain
- Generate a pipeline of ideas across the value stream and mature
ideas into tangible concepts aligned with EIC strategic focuses as
well as Baker Hughes businesses and/or customers' drivers -
- Partner with Baker Hughes product companies, workstreams to
understand market dynamics, challenges and translate into value
propositions, business impact, differentiating CTQs resulting in
commercially viable solutions, products, and services. -
- Manage all aspects of development projects following Baker
Hughes' development process and deliver projects on time, on budget
and continuously ensure alignment with internal and external
customers
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including engineers,
data scientists, and domain experts to execute projects of varying
scope including adjacent areas of opportunities such as analytics
development, sensing technologies, controls, and additive
manufacturing
- Develop visibility as an innovation player by participating in
conferences, industry events and fostering shared knowledge through
technical publications/presentations
- Support EIC's stakeholders with early engagement and external
funding opportunities by leading proposal submissions, technical
concept vetting with external customers and fostering university
relationships/engagements
- Identify areas of opportunities and translating into technology
roadmapTo be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Master's or PhD Degree from an accredited college or
university; Mechanical / Process / Chemical / Electrical /
Materials engineering degree preferably Chemical Engineering with
computational and process expertise
- Have a minimum 10 years of professional experience in energy
related industry and Industrial markets preferably in similar jobs
- Technology Innovation, Product Development, Engineering, Process
design
- A minimum of 5 years in technology development and
demonstration in the CCUS and/or hydrogen space
- Demonstrated skill in engineering, system, and process modeling
& design -
- Demonstrated skill in technology and product development
- Strong experience in a dynamic and competitive environment, in
technology or innovation area
- Demonstrated experience with hydrogen and clean power
technologies and applications including installation, commissioning
and troubleshooting of technologies
- Strong background in hydrogen and clean power technologies and
applications including methane reforming, pyrolysis, fuel cells and
storage solutions
- Extensive knowledge of the value chain from generation to
utilization and the techno-economic challenges with the
state-of-the-art technology
- Extensive knowledge of the state-of-the art in sensing and
monitoring capabilities in the value chain
- Background with turbomachinery equipment including gas turbines
and compression a plus
- Good presentation, oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates effectiveness in communicating business
goals/programs/strategies
- Good analytical, strategic thinking, and project management
skills
- Cross-functional teamwork with ability to work in a fast-paced
environment with shifting priorities
- Ability to interpret customer economic, process and technical
specifications and translate into competitive technical
offering
- Ability and willingness to challenge status quo, without
allegiance to past or current practices and technologies, to get to
the best solutions, products and/or service offerings
- Demonstrated awareness of critical thinking and problem-solving
methods
- Ability to interact with Customers at all level in the
