Client/ Company Type: Professional Services Provide Company Job Title: Cloud Engineer Location: Oklahoma City OK (Remote in Covid but candidate should be able to relocate when they are hired fulltime) Duration: 6 month Contract to hire Visa: Holders can apply Type: W2 Contract, No C2C Basic FunctionWork closely with the Infrastructure Architect to assess the viability of moving business applications and solutions to a cloud-based system. As workloads are identified as cloud candidates the engineer will provide the function and services of the solution within the cloud platform. This could be a net new solution or a solution that requires data migration to occur. Once systems are operational as a production system the Cloud Engineer has the responsibility of on-going care and maintenance. Requirements

• Working in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
• Planning, designing and developing cloud-based solutions.
• Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems.
• Lead and develop best practices for larger Cloud Engineer team.
• Building and designing web services in the cloud, along with implementing the set-up of geographically redundant services.
• Orchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the company.
• Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
• Create a strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Azure
• Assist in developing scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations
• Utilize native Azure services to meet technology and resiliency requirements
• Support Identity, access, configuration management, and monitoring strategy for Azure
• Well versed in processes for network connectivity to Azure
• Extend standard systems management processes into the cloud including change, incident, and problem management
• Establish and implement monitoring and management infrastructure for both availability and performance management
• Establish internal pricing and instance selection model for Azure virtual machines
• Integrate Azure management tooling with including automation of spin-up and spin-down and billing approvals
• Design and implement data protection options, including HA and BCP protection in Azure
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Appropriate work experience as a Cloud Engineer or related position.
• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
• Database experience, including knowledge of MSSQL
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
• Knowledge and experience in additional Cloud platforms (Azure required, AWS or Google as additional platforms)
• Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required. Supervision Received/GivenWorks with multiple teams within ITS and reports directly to Managing Director of Infrastructure. Virtually self-supervising, with accountability for delivery of results.   • Infrastructure background for enterprise solutions
  • Experience in supporting HA solutions
  • Must have advanced computer knowledge and have ability to communicate with IT staff as well as non-technical staff and management.
  • Advanced MS Office skills are required
  • Field experience or knowledge of working within a franchise organization is preferred.
