Responsible for completing accurate and timely set ups for new state accounts, ensuring each set up fulfills the agencies requirements to ensure all filing/payment deadlines will be met or exceeded.

  • Responsible for assigned verifications for new client setups.

  • Call agencies as necessary to retrieve and/or verify state ID's, frequencies, rates, or account status.

  • Completes and returns reviewed verifications by due date.

  • Maintains and updates set up spreadsheet on state requirements to ensure accurate filings and payments on set ups.

  • Responsible for setting up and closing state and municipal employment tax accounts for existing clientele.

  • Ensures all required documents are included for state set ups following required processes.

  • Responsible for registering state and municipal employment tax accounts on behalf of new and existing clients

  • Responsible for processing legal powers of attorney

  • Responsible for processing, efiling and/or mailing tax applications and/or tax returns to appropriate tax authorities upon verifying all required account information has been obtained, as needed.

  • Assist other Paycom associates as needed.

  • Demonstrate initiative by constantly looking for and recommending ways to improve Paycom operations and/or customer service.

  • Assume responsibility for assisting Paycom management with special projects including quarter-end and year-end processing.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • High School Diploma


      • 1+ year of administrative, accounting, payroll, data entry, or related experience


        • Associate or Bachelor's Degree


          • Detail oriented

          • Well organized

          • Cooperative and able to effectively work on a team

          • Ability to use computer applications, printers, copier, fax machine and telephone

          • Intermediate computer skills in Excel, MS Office Suite, Outlook and Web-based Platforms

          • Advanced knowledge of mathematics, accounting, tax and finance principles.

          • Advanced knowledge of complex auditing, reconciliation and general ledger principles

          • Knowledge of payroll accounting and principles

          • Demonstrated experience in customer relationships with moderately to very complex products and services with limited supervision

          • Demonstrated ability to use self-discretion, time management and prioritization of daily tasks and responsibilities

          • Ability to perform research and effectively solve problems

          • Ability to build trust and collaborative relationships

          • Ability to perform research and effectively solve problems

          • Ability to research complex issues with limited supervision

          • Ability to manage complex projects with limited supervision

          • Data entry, reconciliation, problem solving, strong communication skills, customer-oriented, critical thinking, risk management
