Job Description:

A Product Designer creates visual representation for existing and new screens across the Paycom system across multiple platforms. They work closely with their team members and Team Lead to produce quality Paycom standard mockups for mobile and web-based applications.RESPONSIBILITIESLeads design projects across modules and platformsInfluences the overall design strategy for the Paycom systemTranslates design to layout, typography and visual hierarchyPartners closely with product and development teams to support design strategyDetermines product overlap and user experience when using multiple componentsGuides design process through work with cross-functional teams to ensure vision and execution alignmentPoints out and proposes solutions to potential conflicts or collisions between different products, platforms and featuresUses design systems and frameworks to create new design styles, patterns and componentsUses research data, design principles, or other objective information to support and promote design decisions and recommendationsCreate and conduct usability testing, produce research reports from testing with findings and use in designs.Maintains and recommends evolutions of current design styles, patterns and componentsConsiders future goals and product roadmaps when designing a productDesigns for the holistic user experience and potential states when designing a productCreates interactive prototypes of various levelsRuns usability testing on their prototypesConducts User interviews with clientsAssists in user research, studies and experiments and analyze and socialize findingsLeads discussions and collaborations between cross-functional teamsMentors Associate and Product DesignersPromotes departments vision and goals across the organizationLeads meetings within and outside of design, give presentations to cross-functional groups and senior level leadersCollects data using various collection techniques and design products based on data analysisProactively learns new tools and proposes new tech solutionsContributes to the culture by advocating and driving execution of design-driven projects and initiatives through-out the entire companyAssists with special projects as neededEducation/Certification:High School Diploma/GEDExperience:2+ years experience in design, including multi-platform application, product, graphic design, digital media or relatedPortfolio required for review upon interviewPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience:Bachelors degree in art, computer science, or technical fieldSkills/Abilities:Familiar with different data collection techniques and design products based on data analysisDemonstrated proficiency in information architecture, user flows and cross-platform flowsStrong understanding of department vision, the development process, and the interdependenciesUnderstands the different frameworks of other teams outside the Product departmentAdvanced ability to use originality, imagination, and creativity in designs.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of mobile interface design across multiple operating systemsStrong knowledge in HTML/CSSStrong knowledge in working in our design programsEffectively builds and manages relationships across teams and functionsAble to communicate complex ideas, goals and problems in a way that is easy for others not familiar with the project to understandProficient in UI software, Principle, Axure, Confluence, UTrack and WrikeComprehensive knowledge of Web 2.0 Technologies, Javascript Technologies: JQuery,Json,Ajax, Rich Internet Application Development, Responsive Web Design, and UI Performance TuningSelf-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervisionFlexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligation.Strong presentation skills and confidence in presenting recommendations to leadershipPaycom is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
