The Role

The Director, Employee Communications is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies that support business priorities and culture initiatives and drive business transformation. The position will support senior executives, acting as a trusted advisor and developing plans that drive their department's strategies. The director leads a team that creates plans and internal content, supports internal events and ensures consistent and timely communication of key messages and initiatives.

The Main Responsibilities

Develop and execute an internal communication plan that supports the organization's strategic objectives and enhances employee engagement and culture.

Manage and oversee the production and distribution of internal communication materials, and support internal events involving senior executives.

Ensure that internal communication messages are clear, consistent, and aligned with the organization's strategies.

Measure and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of internal communication activities and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.

Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, HR, and other internal stakeholders to understand their communication needs and provide strategic advice and support.

Lead and mentor a team of internal communicators.

Stay abreast of best practices and trends in internal communication and employee engagement.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field.

At least 10 years of experience in internal communication, corporate communication, or a similar role.

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful internal communication strategies and campaigns and building trust with senior leaders.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and engaging messages for diverse audiences.

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Highly collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and across different levels of the organization.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$128310 - $171080 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$135060 - $180080 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$141820 - $189090 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$148570 - $198090 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
